Ben Lomond from David Marshal lodge title sponsor

Part two of our first guide that was a two part tape set. This title takes you past the romantic ruins of Kilchurn Castle and over the hills to the seat of the mighty clan Campbell - Inverary. The Duke of Argyll is based here and the town was one of the first planned settlements in the country. Located on the shores of Loch Fyne, a loch we follow as we head towards Cowal. Dunoon is the major settlement here and is famous for the Gathering and Games held every year. We then pass over the 'Rest and be thankful' mountain pass to Arrochar and Loch Lomond. The best known and loved of the Scottish lochs. We go over to an island with an ancient castle and its own pub. Luss is the location of the TV series 'High road' and is the next settlement before heading over the hills to Helensburgh with the site, en-route of a clan battle that led to the MacGregors' downfall. Return to Loch Lomond and Balloch, now the headquarters of the National Park Authority with the Lomond Shores retail outlet on the shores of the loch. We then travel to Drymen and the other side of the Loch and then up through the Carse of Stirling to the city of Stirling.
